When does the job start?
You'll be part of our team from late June to mid-August. You'll also need to be available for paid training on the weekends of June 1 and 2, and in the evening of June 4.
What are my working hours?
You'll work between 35 and 40 hours a week, from Monday to Friday, between 7.30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Will I get vacation during the summer?
You will be entitled to one week's vacation during the summer season.
Where will I work?
Most camps take place at the Recreation Centre, located at 600 Oak Avenue. However, you may be asked to work at a camp held in a park of the territory or in another municipal building.
Is there any training required to work in the camps?
We prefer our counselors to have their Diplôme d'aptitude aux fonctions d'animateurs (DAFA), but it's not a requirement. Before the start of the day camps, we'll give you about 15 hours of training, as well as first-aid training. You'll need to make yourself available for these courses in June (one weekend and one evening).
How many children will I be responsible for?
It all depends on the age of the children in your group. The ratio is about a dozen children per counselor.
I've submitted my CV, when will I hear from you?
All candidates selected for an interview will be contacted in early April.
