Gestion des matières résiduelles

In order to contribute to efforts to reduce waste, including plastics, a new by-law banning the distribution of certain single-use items will come into effect on January 1, 2025 throughout the territory of Saint-Lambert.

As the best waste is that which is not produced, plastic items used to package or consume food, distributed individually and intended to be thrown away after use, will be banned on the territory. These include plastic plates, straws and forks, which consumers use once before throwing away when taking a dish out to eat.

As a reminder, plastic shopping bags have already been banned throughout the municipality since 2022, as has the use of disposable plastic equipment at municipal events or events organized in partnership with the municipality.

For more information, by-law 2024-231 concerning the ban on the distribution of certain single-use items is available in the Ban on single-use articles page.

About this measure
