Aqueduct breakage on Du Poitou Street | No water consumption notice at parc Préville and precautionary boil-water notice for area residents
Published on 16 Sep 2024
UPDATE | SEPTEMBER 20 (9:29 p.m.) | The no consumption water advisory at the park and Préville school, and the boil water advisories on Du Poitou Street and D'Alsace Avenue have now been lifted.
Due to a break in the temporary aqueduct on Du Poitou Street, some addresses in the area were temporarily without drinking water. The break was repaired within a few hours. A boil-water advisory is now in effect for homes on rue du Poitou and avenue d'Alsace. Water must be boiled for 1 minute before consumption until further notice.
The Préville school, the Préville park chalet and the outdoor drinking fountains near the tennis courts are under a boil-water advisory due to the impossibility of boiling water for drinking fountains and bathrooms.
The Préville school administration has been notified of the situation, door hangers have been distributed to the residences concerned, and no-water consumption signs have been put up on the water fountains and taps in Parc Préville.
To summarize
- École Préville (non-consumption)
- Chalet Préville and outdoor drinking fountains (non-consumption)
- Residences of Du Poitou Street (boiling)
- Residences at 124 to 137 avenue d'Alsace (boiling)
