Distribution of free trees and sale of rain barrels at reduced prices: Place your online orders starting March 26

Whether you wish to replace a tree that had to be cut down or simply add some cachet to your property, you should take advantage of this year’s FREE distribution of around 300 trees. You can also purchase rainwater recovery barrels for just $40.They are sure to make your summer gardening easier.
Please note that the barrels have scratches and small visible defects. Originally used for food storage, the barrels have been adapted for rainwater harvesting, offering a useful second life.
Orders
If you would like to obtain a tree or a barrel, you must order it online starting Wednesday, March 26, at 1 p.m. via the recreational activity registration module. To place your order, you will need to have your resident’s card and a Visa or Mastercard credit card on hand.
A maximum of two trees and two rain barrels are allowed per household. The reservations will end on Wednesday, April 9, at noon.
Picking up your order
You can pick up your order on Saturday, May 3, between 9 a.m. and noon, at the Seaway Park parking lot (near the dog park, access from Pine Avenue). A bag of potting soil will be provided for each tree reserved, and wood shavings will be available in bulk (bring your own container).

Planting trees
Bare root trees will need to be planted on the day of distribution to ensure their survival. Potted trees can be planted within 21 days, as long as they are well watered in the meantime.
