The following is a summary of the main issues discussed and orientations adopted.
1. By-law on the use of pesticides and fertilizers
After much consultation, the Municipal Council has finally adopted the By-law concerning the use of pesticides and fertilizers. Council is very proud of this ground-breaking by-law, which will further protect the health of the population and reduce the risks of water, air and soil contamination.
2. Municipal meetings
Mark your calendars now for the 2025 municipal council meetings! Sessions will be held at 7:30 p.m. on January 20, February 17, March 17, April 14, May 20, June 9, July 7, August 18, September 15, October 1, November 17 and December 8.
3. Cultural development agreement 2025-2027
The Ville de Saint-Lambert wishes to renew its request for financial assistance under the Cultural Development Agreement (CDA) program with the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications (MCC) for the next three years. Under this agreement, the Ville de Saint-Lambert is committed to investing $122,000, for which the MCC would grant us an equivalent amount for cultural purposes.
Thanks to this agreement, we are able to offer many additional activities, notably at the library and during the Fêtes de Saint-Lambert, for the enjoyment of all Saint-Lambert residents.
The draft agreement will be submitted shortly.
4. Free public transit for seniors
In 2025, the Municipal Council has decided to continue offering free access to RTL buses during off-peak periods to all residents aged 65 and over, regardless of income. This measure is greatly appreciated by residents. It is in line with the Council's desire to encourage seniors to remain active and take part in activities in our city and agglomeration, free of charge.
5. Modification to on-street signage
For safety reasons, the Municipal Council has approved the addition of STOP signs in both directions on boulevard Desaulniers at the intersection with avenue Mercille.
