New property assessment roll for Saint-Lambert
Published on 30 Sep 2024
The Ville de Longueuil released the 2025-2026-2027 assessment rolls for the agglomeration, as required by the Act respecting municipal taxation. Saint-Lambert's new three-year assessment roll is now available for consultation.
To find out more about the new rolls in the agglomeration, consult the press release issued by the Ville de Longueuil.
Effect of filing an assessment roll on the tax bill
When a property has increased in value more than the average in its tax category, you can expect to receive a higher tax bill, whereas when a property has increased in value less than the average, you can expect to receive a lower tax bill.
Irrespective of the above, the other factor that can influence the variation in the tax bill is the adoption of the budget by each city council. The budget sets tax rates by building category, taking into account the town's financial needs for the coming year.
An assessment notice informing you of the new value of your property will be mailed to you in mid-November. Following the mailing of tax bills early next year, individual meetings will be organized in each agglomeration town so that you can ask questions and discuss the value of your property.
