Water meters volunteers pub

Are you concerned about drinking water consumption? Would you like to do something about it? We're looking for owners of single-family homes or multiplexes who are willing to have a water meter installed in their building.

Why?

  • Because it's a requirement of the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l'Habitation (MAMH) to collect statistics;
  • Because the data collected will enable us to draw up a balance sheet of water consumption on the territory;
  • Because we'll be able to detect leaks in the network and sources of wastage.

Installation and equipment are free of charge, and there are no charges associated with this initiative. So there will be no impact on your tax bill. It's all about collecting data. Once the installation is complete, readings will be taken remotely via the telecommunication antenna, so no one will be at your home.

Benefits for participants

Non-functioning water inlet valves in participating households will be brought up to standard when their water meter is installed. They will also have access at all times to the data displayed on their meter to find out how much they are consuming.
