Rehabilitation of a water main on Riverside Drive
The Ville de Longueuil, within the sphere of its agglomeration responsibilities, will be inserting a structural lining into a water main measuring 750 mm in diameter on Riverside Drive near the Le Royer water filtration plant and the Canadian National railway overpass.
The work will take place between March 27 and mid-May.
Description of the work
The procedure that was chosen consists of inserting a polyethylene liner inside the water main to extend its useful life. This water main supplies potable water to the cities of Saint-Lambert and Brossard and to part of the borough of Greenfield Park.
More specifically, the work involves:
- Excavation of access pits;
- Installation of a structural lining in the 750 mm diameter potable water main;
- Rehabilitation of the roadway, sidewalks, curbs, and bicycle path;
- Paving of the surface layer.
Traffic
This project will involve the closure of Riverside Drive between Saint-Denis and Hickson avenues, except for local traffic. Vehicular traffic, RTL bus routes, and bike path traffic will be rerouted to Prince-Arthur Street. Parking regulations will be adapted accordingly.
Potable water
The drinking water supply will not be interrupted during the work.
